Privacy Policy

1 Who we are

Tack is a paid personal finance app for iPhone and web, built and maintained by Stuart Nunn / Stuart Digital, based in the Philippines.

This Privacy Policy explains how Tack handles your information. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@tackapp.io.

2 What data Tack collects

Nothing that leaves your device.

All data you enter — transactions, balances, savings goals, bill schedules, budget settings, currency preferences, and any other financial information — is stored exclusively in your device's local storage. It is never transmitted anywhere.

Tack does not collect:

3 How your data is stored

Your data lives entirely on your device — written to localStorage in the browser, or on-device storage on iOS. It is never transmitted over the internet to any server.

We have no ability to access, recover, or restore your data. It only exists where you put it.

4 Third-party services

Tack uses no third-party services that receive your data. Specifically, there are no:

• Analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel)
• Crash reporting services (e.g. Sentry, Bugsnag)
• Advertising networks
• Cloud storage or sync providers
• Third-party SDKs that transmit data

The web version (tack.pages.dev) is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log standard infrastructure-level request metadata (such as IP addresses) as part of their hosting service, subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. Tack itself sends no application data to Cloudflare or any other party.

Currency exchange rates: Tack fetches live currency rate data from the Open Exchange Rates API (open.er-api.com). This request contains no personal data — only a standard HTTP request for the current exchange rate table is made. No user information, financial data, or identifiers are sent to this service.

5 No tracking or advertising

Tack contains no ads, no tracking pixels or beacons, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking, and no behavioural profiling of any kind. We don't want it, we don't need it, and it isn't there.

6 Exporting your data

You own your data and can export a full copy at any time:

1. Open Tack
2. Go to Settings
3. Tap Export Data

This generates a JSON file containing all your Tack data, which you can save, back up, or import elsewhere. The export happens entirely on your device — it is not sent to us or any third party.

7 Deleting your data

To permanently delete all Tack data from your device:

1. Open Tack
2. Go to Settings
3. Tap Clear All Data

This irreversibly removes all Tack data from local storage. Because we hold no copy, this cannot be undone and we cannot assist with recovery.

On iOS, uninstalling the app will also remove all data. On web, you can also clear data through your browser's site settings for tack.pages.dev.

8 Children's privacy

Tack is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect any data from children. Because all data stays on-device and we collect nothing at all, there is no risk of us holding children's data on any server.

9 Philippines Data Privacy Act (RA 10173)

Tack is operated from the Philippines and we take our obligations under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act 10173) seriously.

Because Tack collects no personal information and processes no personal data on any server, we are not acting as a personal information controller or processor in any meaningful sense — your data never leaves your device and is never accessible to us.

10 European Union users (GDPR)

If you are in the EU or EEA, your GDPR rights include access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and the right to object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Because all data is stored on your own device and we hold nothing about you, these rights are already practically in your hands. You can export (Section 6) or delete (Section 7) your data at any time without our involvement.

11 Security

Because your data never leaves your device, the primary security layer is your own device security. We have no servers to secure, no databases to protect, and no data in transit to encrypt.

We recommend keeping your OS and Tack updated, using a device passcode or biometric lock, and exporting a backup of your data periodically.

12 Changes to this Privacy Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Given Tack's architecture (no data collection, no accounts), material changes are unlikely. If a future version introduces any form of data processing, we will communicate that clearly.
